BELIEFS

These are our core doctrines, the set of beliefs we all together hold, as we see in scripture. These truths are so central to what we do, and are so present throughout our ministry, that affirming these beliefs is necessary for unity in our worship together.

  • God is the Creator and Sustainer of heaven and earth. God the Father rules over all and, together with the Son and the Spirit, is the only God. He made all things for the praise of His glory and intends for man, in particular, to live in fellowship with Himself. (Genesis 1:1-2; John 1:1-3; Colossians 1:15-17; Revelation 4:11)

We believe scripture teaches that there is one God that has eternally existed as three persons: the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. There is one God and three coeternal and coequal Persons. (Deuteronomy 6:4; Matthew 28:19; 2 Corinthians 13:14, 1 Peter 1:2)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ ascended into heaven and is now exalted at the right hand of God where, as our High Priest, He fulfills the ministry as Representative, Intercessor, and Advocate. (Acts 1:9, 10; Romans 8:34; Hebrews 7:25, 9:24; 1 John 2:1–2)

We believe that the Holy Spirit convicts the world of sin, of righteousness, and of judgment; He is the Supernatural Agent in regeneration, baptizing all believers into the body of Christ, indwelling and sealing them unto the day of redemption. (John 16:8–11; Romans 8:9; 1 Corinthians 12:12, 13; 2 Corinthians 3:6; Ephesians 1:13-14)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ, the eternal Son of God, became man without ceasing to be God, having been conceived by the Holy Spirit and born of the Virgin Mary in order that He might reveal God and redeem sinful man. (John 1:1–2, 14; Luke 1:35)

We believe that the Lord Jesus Christ accomplished our redemption through His death on the cross as a representative, vicarious, substitutionary sacrifice. Sin is removed by the one time atoning work of Jesus. Our justification is made sure by His literal, physical resurrection from the dead. Salvation is by faith. (Romans 3:24; Ephesians 1:7; 1 Peter 1:3, 2:24)

We believe Jesus is coming again to judge the living and the dead. (Romans 14:9; 2 Timothy 4:1; 1 Peter 4:5)

  • We believe that the human race, was created, female and male, in the image of God, and is the crown of the creation of God. The chief purpose of all creation, particularly the human race, is to bring glory to God. Enjoying a life of worship to God is hindered by the sin present in our lives. (Genesis 1:26-31; Psalm 16:11; Romans 3:23, 6:23; 1 Corinthians 10:31)

  • We believe that salvation is the gift of God brought to man by grace and received by personal faith in the Lord Jesus Christ, whose precious blood was shed on Calvary for the forgiveness of our sins. This is the only source of salvation. (John 1:12, 14:6; Acts 4:12; Ephesians 1:7, 2:8-10; Colossians 1:19-20; 1 Peter 1:18-19)

  • We believe sin is present in the nature of the entire human race since Adam’s sin in the Garden of Eden. This sin is rebellion against the rightful worship of the Holy Creator God. (Genesis 3; Leviticus 19:1-4; Psalm 14; Romans 3:23)

  • We believe that humans are eternal beings. We will either exist with God in heaven by the free gift of salvation through Jesus Christ, or be separated by sin from God in hell. We believe that heaven and hell are the two places of eternal existence. (Matthew 25:31-46; Romans 6:23; 1 John 5:11-13)

  • We believe that the Bible, being the Old and New Testament, is the word of God. As God’s words, it is the final authority, inerrant in the original writings, infallible, and God-breathed. It is relevant for all people and for all time. (Matthew 5:17, 18; John 16:12, 13; 2 Timothy 3:16, 17; 2 Peter 1:20, 21, 3:15-16)
